In the first couple of days we have had some good training sessions, on the first day we all set off to Wynberg School which was where Jacques Kallis famously started his cricket career. After 16 hours on the plane and an hour stop in Dubai, we were all fairly worn out so we had had a light session to get us back into the swing of things. After the days training we headed out to The Waterfront mall, which has loads of nice places to eat so we settled in to a steak house for dinner, before heading back to the hotel.
The next day was middle practice for the team, ahead of the game on Wednesday. We practised opening overs, middle periods and bowling at the death. It was good to bowl on grass again and to chat with the players to become more knowledgeable about the game. The scenario was designed to put us under pressure, so that we could learn how to cope in matches.
The weather has been enough to get us into shorts and vests and even enough for some of us to burn! The setting could not be better, especially with the imposing presence of Table Mountain, which is a key feature in the background of every photo you take.
